I have the smallest pond you can get as a structure. I have had it for approx. 5 years and the plant you can see had completely filled the pond up. I removed it and all the mud and was very pleased to find 5 frogs in it. All mud put on side of pond to allow access back into pond. Every little helps

Sounds like a big job but look forward to seeing it when finished.

The chalk stream looks lovely Amy.

I don’t know where you are trying to lead me but I am not playing your game.

There are people throughout time who are perhaps deserving of such a title.

Reform voters please be careful not to demonise all migrants/immigrants. My now daughter in law was paid to come here from India 4 years ago due to a shortage of nurses (she did pay most of the cost back when taking a promotion) and if you suffer from upper GI cancer she is here to help you.

Yes I noted you and I were both silent shutter - I can’t see any need for it to be any other way.

Spread it out throughout the UK and over 4 years yes it’s on the ambitious side but we know targets are never met in the political world. If they get somewhere near it then it’s providing something many badly need.

Sounds like a juvenile then - nice find Mick 👍

Glad you got to see it Geoff 👍

Hi Mark - it was great to share the fantastic sightings we had of the bird with you. I took 140 shots and thought that was a lot 😂. And thanks to Graham - I didn’t know who had found it 👍

Gillian and I went off this morning to find the Wryneck that has been at Barleycrates Lane, Portland for a few days now and we were successful (thanks to original finder?). It displayed lovely for us. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @portlandbirdobs.bsky.social #ukbirds #ukbirding

"Today, we clear a soccer field’s worth of tropical forest every six seconds, a loss dramatically worsened by humanity’s growing hunger for meat"

Wean ourselves off meat now, or the switch to a Pliocene climate that's locked in will do it for us

Meat is a leading emissions source – but few outlets report on it, analysis finds
Sentient Media reveals less than 4% of climate news stories mention animal agriculture as source of carbon emissions

Sometimes no matter what you do - you need a break. You created some lovely art so don’t be too harsh a critic.

Here in Dorset some red strawberries outside have gone all soft and courgettes really soft on the ends - basically all come to an end.

Couldn’t agree more. It was downgraded recently I believe by the RSPB so doesn’t get maintained. Crazy as if ever a site is a gateway to birding and possibly become RSPB members this is it. It’s shameful.

One of my favourite birds and one that I still haven’t seen - that news is very sad.

No because in the main travellers are seen as those that carry out hare coursing when toffs are seen as those that hunt. It’s time the equalities commission got involved because the police response to both crimes is certainly different and clearly in breach of the 2010 Equalities Act.

Exactly - and people like my daughter the mother of my 12 year old autistic granddaughter don’t want to be made to think that taking paracetamol during the pregnancy is the cause of the autism when it’s clearly unsubstantiated tosh.

Yes Pine Martins can have a negative impact on Grey Squirrels (Glou. Wildlife Trust) which may be good but I don’t know if they can have a negative impact on other animals.
