i cant go "yeah you get fire powers, go burn shit" because there's one (1) fire mage at any given time (flaithri) and the only other patron who has fire power is. war. and war is weird. war cannot help you. you'd also have to be a person claimed by war. do you want to commit war crimes for her.

SEE i could have the big gods also be patrons. but they are only prophets because the big gods don't even interact with the physical world very muchly. (they cannot) so they have to do things thru. metaphysical-ish, indirect means. and if people WANT to be a prophet... then ok i cant stop them

idk. i'm of the opinion that the less i have to fuss over magic the more soupful it will be because it'll force people to bend their blorbini into the world without thinking of higher end concepts and how close they can come to being a god-slayer, rp-wise. not to say there isn't feature creep at all

see dragon patrons have to hide for the most part. they are a kill-on-sight deal. they also "hide from god" by staying underground (sometimes literally) as the sun and the moon are the "eyes of logos" who is the biggest, baddest god of the bunch. if logos spots you and it does not like you,
