YOUR FARM, YOUR PLAN, YOUR FUTURE
Alberta Environmental Farm Plan is a whole-farm self-assessment tool to identify potential environmental risks on your farm. Completing an EFP allows for greater awareness, education, and access to market opportunities.
There are so many benefits to doing soil testing and actively monitoring your soil health! Soil tests can help you understand the bigger picture on your farm. Understanding your soil type and being aware of how that soil functions can also help inform other BMPs!

Soil salinization is decreasing thanks to more permanent cover and less summer fallow. But problem areas remain. Reduce salinity by using deep‑rooted or salt‑tolerant crops, managing snow drifts, increasing no‑till, or considering drainage options.
