I love the people who tell me "You are not albino you don't have red eyes and white hair"

Not all albinos have those things, actually it's not even the majority, Albinism can cause anything from white to red and brown hair... Also I actually do have red toned eyes they are dark...1/9
Mild albinism, an albino daughter next to her father (who honestly himself was significantly paler than his siblings)
It actually makes me want to scream violently out-loud, YOU CANNOT strip my minority experience and race from me because I have a mild form of albinism that makes me look extremely white.
The worst feeling in the world for me is constantly having to defend my race, constantly being told I am not what I am.
Being Albino comes with a lot of trauma/abuse/hate it comes with people constantly telling you you are something you are not...
I carry a 125x zoom lens, but if I tried to lift one bigger my nerve and muscle issues would give out
Hubby is what got me out, it's such a long complicated story
It also was controlled nationally by the federal governments and not the tribes till the 2000s era. so the experiences were pretty across the board worse then than today. I am glad some are getting better, but I have some recent traumas with some in a few states as well.
They aren't what they were in the 80s and 90s either. a lot of the tribes have gotten more control over them then they had in that era. But that is a LONG discussion, and a very traumatic one.

There are better clinics now then my experience, and there are genuine doctors trying.
Native American culture isn't Eastern Mysticism. Stop calling Medicine Men "Shaman" while some natives have quit caring about the phrase it's inaccurate & is part of how our culture is misrepresented & erased.
Out of respect please stop using phrases that are erasing the complexity of our cultures.
not sure if it is still there, but that hospital holds a lot of trauma for me... I hate IHS
Even during the trail of tears multiple tribes were running rescues to get women and children off it and aiding runaway slaves and abuse settler women. We never quit trying to help others in our dark times
