Just like in real. life, no one knows! an afterlife existing or not is jot a question that's ever satisfactorily answered in any of my stories, though it certainly comes up. You can be undead, but you can't come back from being dead.

I thought about it but ultimately, I decided against it. The story is about choices and their consequences, and how there is balance in this dynamic. The characters get a finite lifetime for this, and then they are done
