Trump won that "blue+25" district by seven points last year

pfff, as if Hungary would give up the 5 billion euros yearly in "investment funds".
December 6, 2025 at 8:58 PM
yeah, that's the real problem with VIA rail, it simply does not waste enough of my time stopping in tiny towns

You can have a rail service that people actually want to take, or you can have a rail service that stops in Alexandria, ON, but you can't have both

I'd prefer not to go back to horse-drawn carriages, thanks

(Ideally, of course, driverless transport would be owned & operated by municipalities and not Google)

As long as towns like Nowhereville, Saskatchewan (population:55) exist, we will need cars (and especially trucks). In my view, as someone who doesn't own a car, automation (in a form closer to paratransit) will close the convenience gap between car owners and transit users.

Good thing Waymos don't use GPS

Where'd you source the vet number? I can't find it
December 3, 2025 at 5:57 PM
admittedly, it seems like that number has spread around without a source. Extrapolating from this study:https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3740639/ (5,000 deaths in a city of 600,000) would give a number of around 3 million/year.

Has anyone told the owners of those dogs to stop letting them wander into traffic? seems like a better solution to me
December 3, 2025 at 4:59 AM
It's more like 5.5 million dogs/cats killed by human drivers/year.

People want the conservative party in Canada, and the person they want to lead the conservative party is mark carney

look, it's very important to me, as Joe Average, that the wife of a fictionalised version of an anatolian guy is white

The youth love Alan Dershowitz, and the feeling is mutual
November 25, 2025 at 2:55 PM
frankly I think taking out tesla owners is a net good, so I'm not terribly torn up about that
November 20, 2025 at 1:34 AM
Exactly. As someone who is at the mercy of drivers every day, I'll take driverless cars any day of the week. At least they won't swerve into your lane on purpose.

They would if people constantly wandered onto the tracks without looking
