Gotta love Stevie. I have this single!
I love this song and just picked up his hits CD with this song on it. John is awesome.
Very cool. I own a copy as well and thanks for crediting the visual artists in the alt text. That’s how I found your post. I searched for Aldo Diaz and Madonna. Alt text works!
Yay! Just reading this now on here from you. My wish came true! I agree with you, 100%. #ANewHope
Tough to believe but, yeah, this single is 41 years old. I love it and have it. The flip-side “stay” is also a favorite of mine: a great song to close the album it’s from, too! #madonna #likeavirgin #stay
I have your cover of this song on CD (the Red, Rock N’ Blue album). I was so happy I found it! I bought it as a treat to myself after a tough work week back when it was released (2018).
I love this song and single. This was the first CD single I bought that was a digipak. Worth it though because not only were the remixes on it outstanding, but they used a silver ink for the artwork. Much later I also bought the 12-inch and (used) cassette maxi-single of “Chorus.” Good stuff!
Agreed and “exile” is one of my favorites, ever.
Cool stuff! My family had the notorious Pinto for a time in the ‘70s. I remember one of my brother’s friends coming over before school, touching the parked car and running away from it fast and huddling like something was going to happen. He was a jokester but this was the reputation the Pinto had.
Happy to report that I finally own the ‘KICK’ album on CD thanks to somebody posting about INXS right here on Bluesky. It jogged my memory of how much I liked every single that came out of this album.
“Everybody” is awesome! Although it does appear on her debut, when it was released, there was no album. I believe Madonna was initially signed to Sire Records for three 12-inch singles. That’s why there’s no mention of an album on the “Everybody” and “Burning Up/Physical Attraction” 12-inch singles.
Nice! Keep living life to the fullest, Kathy. Keeping me going today: a long walk, hot yoga, yard work and lots and lots of music.
I’m choosing ‘True Confessions’ by Bananarama. I actually have the album on cassette because I won it in a contest by the group, who are lovely. I know this because I saw them in concert at Chicago’s Hard Rock Cafe (2012). The album is fantastic because it’s very diverse, like listening to mix tape.
‘Flashdance’ and I was 13 or 14 at the time. I didn’t see it in theaters like my parents did. I saw it on tape (VHS), which my mom rented for me shortly after it was released on home video. A huge deal back then because no one under 18 could rent an R-rated film. I was a thankful, lucky #80s teen!
Thank you, thank you! I love Patrick Nagel’s work. I had him in mind when I did the latest version of this Madonna illustration.
It is. I modified this illustration from the original that I did last year…
I just updated this illustration I did of Madonna from her 1984 year. Have a great weekend! #madonna #illustration #artwork #graphicdesign #1980s #80s #borderline
Well said! I found/bought a copy of ‘A League of Their Own’ on DVD yesterday and can’t wait to (re)watch the film. Rosie’s performance in that film is phenomenal. I’ve been a huge fan of hers ever since.
Thank you for posting this! I’m a huge Rosie fan and saw/heard this from start to finish. I’m sure I’ll replay the interview again. Again, thanks!
Wow! I never heard it on the radio. I love the UK import single cover art, but never bought it because I was always low on funds whenever I saw it. That’s super awesome that you made a comic based on that song. I have the ‘Prayer’ cassette as well. My copy that I bought used still has the scent! Ha!
Very cool! I was obsessed with the look of those bikes way back in the early ‘80s. I drew one in pencil and marker back then and have it somewhere. Nice to see the bike in digital format!
It’s such a great album. I bought it on CD when it was released and still have the long box for it that it came in which was scented. I just dug it out and sniffed it. The patchouli scent continues to linger, thank goodness. “Dear Jessie” might be my favorite track from that album.
I saw the entire episode and gave it a Like (of course). You’re awesome! I’m going to replay it soon. Stay awesome, Kathy!
How beautiful. I hadn’t heard k.d. lang’s cover of this amazing song until now. I know “Hallelujah” mostly from Jeff Buckley’s version of it. k.d. is amazing, so it doesn’t surprise me that she did an excellent job.
