TWINS TAKE A NO-DOUBTER AS THEY TOP ANGELS 9-0

Hisle hit a 2R HR in the 1st, but the real fireworks were in the 7R 4th inn, which also featured a 2R 2B by Hisle. Kaat tossed a 5-hit SHO for the W. Twins stay 1 in back of A's.

Cleveland Indians finish the 1973 Replay with a record of 65-97, coming in last place in the NL East. In real life, they finished 71-91, in last place.

Baltimore Orioles finish the 1973 Replay with a record of 103-59, winning the AL East with the Best Record in Baseball. They await the winner of the AL West to be decided for the ALCS, which begins on Saturday, Oct 6 - a full week away.

DRIESSEN 7TH INN HR BREAKS 4-4 TIE, GIVES REDS 5-4 WIN OVER GIANTS

Giants posted single Rs in 4 inn to give them a 4-3 lead into B6, when Tolan RBI 2B (2nd RBI of gm) tied it up. That set stage for Driessen's HR to take the final lead.

BRETT TOPS WISE AS PHILLIES BEAT CARDINALS 1-0

Brett was in trouble all gm, allowing 12 baserunners and only having one 1-2-3 inning. But he drove in the only R of the gm w/ a sac fly after a Bowa 3B. Wise was fantastic, striking out 12 in the loss.
