I just resuscitated my daughter's old LG Chromebase. It was "end of life" by LG and Google but I cracked it open, flashed the BIOS, and installed Debian. Now I have a useful lab terminal! I wrote it up the process for iFixit.
LG Chromebase 22" Teardown
The LG Chromebase 22cv241 has just one upgradeable internal component: SO-DIMM PC3L-12800 RAM. The SSD is a SanDisk i110 SSD BGA chip soldered to...

Funny how things are alyways cyclical - I was solving time sync issues 15-20 years ago in my day job. All this time later, we're still trying to work around that pesky physics issue! #reInvent #AuroraDSQL

Everyone knows that I am all in on cloud, but sometimes you do have to give kudos to the HW manufacturers... I've been running my @Synology DS412+ for 11 years without issue and this is the oldest drive in it (thanks @westerndigital
for building some great kit!). #reliability

Been using UniFi for 2-3 years now. Pricey but well worth it! Set and forget (apart from the occasional firmware update which I’m still too chicken to set on complete auto) and brilliant range/signal etc. Only downside I’ve seen is AP switching between rooms could be better.
