Jesus was a literal illegal alien…born in a barn…fled to Egypt, re-entered Roman occupied Jerusalem as an illegal…then was tortured and executed by a fascist state. 1000% Jesus would be against what ICE is doing…it was literally what happened to him…
July was a decent month. Read the best fiction book of the year and also the worst book of the year. Book of the Month: Someone You Can Build a Nest In

Been a minute since I’ve posted on here but I had a phenomenal June of reading. In addition to this I read two tankobon of Dan Da Dan as well as Sentient by Jeff Lemire and Gabriel Walta. Service Model was the easy book of the month #booksky
Took a little break from here but my March reading was great. Little bit of a non-fiction hangover after reading Caste and King in Feb. BOTM: Mickey 7

Putting things in perspective often helps. Reading can do that…whiskey helps too lol

February reading wrapped up. Loved all the books but King: a Life was head and shoulders above the rest. March is looking like another epic month of reading

There exist books that will forever leave a scar upon your soul. This was one of those. #BookSky #BookReviews
He seems obsessed with being Hard…maybe he hasn’t been in awhile
Early frontrunner for my fiction book of the year. It’s not what I expected at all but exactly what I needed. I hope it wins all the awards. #BookSky #BookReviews #RoeVWade #Witchcraft
This book will leave a mark. I didn’t agree with her take on the 2016 election, but I have the hindsight of witnessing 2024. Everything else is incredibly thought provoking. The what, why, and how racism is created and perpetuated #BookSky #BlackHistoryMonth
Nope just starting out with Sanderson. As a completist I had to start with Elantris instead of Mistborn like the author suggests…starting Mistborn soon
January reading wrap-up. Great month for me. Team of Rivals far and away my book of the month and will probably be at my top for the year if not ever. 5 books: 2 non-fiction (both historical biographies) 3 fiction (all fantasy)

Working my way through the Saturn Award nominees and wow, this film. I never read the book so went in blind, then went blind from tears. Such a beautiful story that only Science-Fiction can make so human #TheWildRobot #MovieSky #SaturnAwards
#Grimdark brutal…I don’t know if any of the characters are likable. And I loved every word of it. Definitely felt a bit like a setup to the trilogy, much like I felt at the end of Assassin’s Apprentice. There was certainly enough with this one too that I’ll be reading book 2 very shortly.

Fans of #grimdark fantasy should definitely read Dan Jones. Probably the best writer of Middle Age English history. His latest installment is just as potent. Incredibly entertaining, accessible, and enlightening. Audiobook narrated by Dan himself. Loved every page. #BookSky #BookReviews #DanJones
Second fantasy read of 2025. Planning on completing the Farseer Trilogy this year. Thought it was a good start, but I’m not sure it wowed me completely. I know her mad ship trilogy is supposed to be the best but I like starting at the beginning

Journey through the Cosmere has begun! If this is Sanderson’s first big work, I can only imagine how good Mistborn and Stormlight will be. Looking forward to it.

I don’t know if there are enough superlatives to describe this film. A beautiful story hidden aware in a popcorn monster flick…exquisite

My Best of 2024:
1. American Prometheus - Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin
2. Challenger - Adam Higginbotham
3. Dune - Frank Herbert (re-read)
4. The Boys in the Boat - Daniel James Brown
5. Starter Villain - John Scalzi
6. Nemesis Games - James S.A. Corey (Book 5 of the Expanse)

The first four novellas in this series were outstanding. The standalone novel, was also strong. But these last two I think were much weaker. Still enjoyable with tons of action but just not those same original heights. I’ll continue to read it as it comes out for sure though.

Working my way through the Saturn Award nominees and finally finished this gem. Nominated for Sci-Fi show of the year and, I must say, it delivered. 10/10. I dove in with only a vague awareness of the video game. Didn’t effect anything #SaturnAwards #Fallout #ShowReviews
Ambitiously trying to watch all the Saturn Award nominees. One of the nominees for Animated film stood out that I would probably rank it in my overall. Beautiful, took some doing to parse out the themes and message but worth it
