The downside of being a strong person (especially a strong woman) is: You keep things going, you pick people up, but when you suffer, you're mostly on your own, because after all you, you are strong and people just assume you can manage on your own.

The downside of being a strong person (especially a strong woman) is: You keep things going, you pick people up, but when you suffer, you're mostly on your own, because after all you, you are strong and people just assume you can manage on your own.

Being an adult sucks. It means not having enough time/energy/brainpower to open daily your Christmas calendar.
It's always a treat to go to a doctor and being instantly interrupted whilst describing one's symptoms and medical history, not even finishing ONE sentence properly.
My therapist reminded me that medicine is one of the professions to which narcissists tend to be drawn to.

Wir sind an einem Punkt, an dem das Nichtfunktionieren der #Bahn chronisch Millionen Pendelnde psychischem u körperlichen Folgen aussetzt. Ausfälle/Verspätungen führen zu Problemen mit dem Arbeitsplatz, Schlafmangel, weniger Freizeit, Dauerstress und Ärger.

Ich kenne eine 3-fache Mutter, die pubertätsbedingte, asoziale Äußerungen ihrer Kinder bezüglich MigrantInnen oder ärmeren SchülerInnen damit kontert, dass sie zusammen mit ihr am gleichen Tag eine dazu passende arte Reportage anschauen müssen. Jedes einzelne Mal.

No one would advice a victim of rape to "forgive, because forgiveness is best for oneself", but when it comes to decades of emotional/physical abuse committed by parents, the adult child gets repeatedly exactly that unsolicited "advice"
