It’s October poems day!!

Quietly Wild has been out in the world for 2 whole weeks now!! With 10 poems for every month of the year and photographs and earth-based rituals to accompany them, this is a book that really embodies the work I’ve been doing for 8 years.

I dream of a house in the woods
Silvermist mornings and rocking chair coffee.
The sound of rain on the screened-in porch.
A quiet, unencumbered view...
horses, warm and dry, in the barn down the hill
and maybe some chickens, pecking
the ground at our feet.

Raindrops and red leaves
an urgency that rises
like geese over the tool shed

a knowing lateness

the air grows cold
and I am swept up in the dream
of darkness and rest

and all that must yet be done
before nightfall.
