It turns out that there are plenty of people out there who are willing to be jerks to you. Don't do their work for them. You're giving them a free pass. Make them do it, and when you laugh them off, you're just pissing them off that much more, because they had to try AND fail.

"Trump said he will impose a 10% tariff on “any and all goods” from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Finland starting February 1, increasing to 25% on June 1, until an agreement is reached.

“We have subsidized Denmark, and all of the Countries of the European Union, and others, for many years by not charging them Tariffs, or any other forms of remuneration,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. “Now, after Centuries, it is time for Denmark to give back — World Peace is at stake!”"

I don't have the courage to post this publicly on FB, so I posted it to my friends. But that doesn't extend to Bluesky, where I'm not using my real name (not hard to connect the dots, but...).

"Left an Ottawa Dads FB group today when a melee broke out over the presence of feminine products in a boys' bathroom at an elementary school.

The usual rhetoric of "grooming" was unchallenged by the moderators/admins, people who believe in trans rights were called "retards", and the majority of respondents used words like "unacceptable" and "fucked up".

This is our world. I can't even deal with this crap. The original poster had the gall to lecture me on kids in "his day" (which was well after "my day") being taught to be accepting of everyone/everything, and then doubling down on the whole kids-shouldn't-know-what-trans-is narrative.

Honestly, just... miss me with that bullshit. Trans rights are human rights. Period."

Okay, so, my wife's car died the other day. A burning smell when she turned it on. We just replaced the battery a couple weeks ago. I make the connection -- dead battery, smoking smell, must be the alternator or regulator, right?
