This bill is not about solving the province's traffic issues. In fact, it's more likely to make our roads more congested and dangerous.

"Why did she fly into a tree? It didn't make sense.

At the request of members of the Indigenous Land Stewardship Circle, photographers and @highparknaturecentre staff, @toanimalservices contracted an Arborist to climb White Pine, to offer Sema (Tobacco), wrap her body and carry her down so that we would know the likely cause of death. Through testing of her liver, it was determined that the cause of death was anticoagulant rodenticde"

"Some people think rodenticide is a synonym for rat poison but this story (and countless others) tells us this isn't true - rodenticides kill many beings not just rats Bait boxes like the ones seen in these pictures from High Park don't just attract rats, they also attract Gray Squirrels and Chipmunks. These relatives are food to Owl, Coyotes, Fox, Hawk and others. The poison accumulates in their bodies, and when they die, it accumulates in the bodies of the scavengers who consume them, Turkey Vulture and Opposum"

Ifyou weren't lucky enough to see her, you may have heard her hooting at dawn or dusk, calling to her mate or owlets
On the morning of January 3, 2022, she was found dead way up in the branches of White Pine. |t appeared like she flew into the tree head first. Her mate, hooted for days, weeks, until his voice went hoarse, never receiving a response"

Very sad new today from @turtleprotectorstkaronto about a Great Horned Owl, a long-time resident of High Park. She died from secondary poisoning from rodenticide. Please sign and share the petition. We need to change these practices now.
