They sort of become our surrogate children, don't they? I spent the last 15 years of my careeer at a university, before that I worked for SRI, a private not-for-profit research institute. At the U I enjoyed mentoring much more than I would have thought. Fond memories. I'm sure you have some.

I am reminded of the 2023(?) film "Zone of Interest" where the Auschwitz commander went home to an idyllic tradwife and family. You are right. These disgusting fascists should be ostraciszed from society. You cannot go home and coacn Little League after what you do during the day.

With redeploying major naval resources to Latin American countries that pose no threat to us, what I don't see discussed is that these resources are no longer deployed against threats that knowledgeable people thought we should guard against. Putin and Xi are happy.

Had a good time at the Chicago demo. Even the Chicago cops(!) were friendly. So non-political post, experimenting with a new watercolor procedure starting with a grisaille in water-soluble graphire then layering color.

I keep hoping for honorable members of the military to disobey unlawful orders, but yeah, many (most?) are MAGA white supremacist Christian nationalist. So the cavalry is not coming to the rescue. The cavalry are them, particularly after the Trump-Hegseth purge.

We were just in San Francisco and went to the Legion museum where they have some Bierstadts. His are large. Yours hold up. How long does it take you to do these?
