My Mum and Dad were young, frightened British kids at this time. And thank christ the US joined the righteous fight.

You, sir, are an ignorant twat.

Chicken has landed. Just need to add the garnishes.

Seven spice chicken is done, as is the cauliflower

Better get the garnishes ready.

And me, I’m having a classic daiquiri.

Because, why not?

Oops, nearly forgot to put the Lebanese 🇱🇧 seven spice chicken in the oven.

Have become very partial to roasted cauliflower. Here the dressing is a mix of garlic (yes, more), oil, smoked paprika and cumin.

It was time to marinate the chicken in 7-spice powder. None of your shop bought nonsense, I made the mix myself. To be roasted soon …

Some time later, I added chickpeas, lemon juice, salt and a lot of tahini, blended it brutally and voila!

Spoiler; it’s bloody good. Then …

Right, eight guests tonight and I’m cooking a Lebanese-style dish.

Starting with pumpkin hummus. Which meant hacking up some pumpkin and roasting the crap out of it with a garlic, honey and olive oil marinade.
