Love is a complicated compulsion.
Delaying the wedding has come to an end. And yet, Henry and Hans find themselves still seized within the grasp of an affair neither can willingly let go of, in spite of duty and birthright.
n the briefest of moments stolen away from a company meant to deliver the young lord to Kunstadt for his wedding, Henry prays desperately for a way to stay with Hans.
God is not the one to hear his prayers, however.
Instead, a familiar auntie with a scythe crosses paths with the Skalitz boy again, bearing knowledge too heavy for him to take and an exchange too tempting not to.
History must still play out a certain way. Lord Capon needs an heir. Sir Heinrich must exist and go on to be a very capable knight in the future, lest Death's work grow exponentially. Yet Henry doesn't want to lose Sir Hans to a marriage he never wants to come.
Henry and Hans soon discover that changing fate comes with many costs. Some including alterations to their very bodies.

Hans didn't know when it had happened.
Perhaps the seeds for it had been planted from the very beginning. Back when he taunted a rude blacksmith's boy who became consumed by the burning of his village and who had beat him at every turn in what skills he had spent nis entire noble omegan life acquiring.

But that wasn't all. Henry even mastered getting closer to Sir Hans. From page, to friend, to confidant... Somewhere along the way, Hans found he wanted a future with Henry.
A home, a marriage, a mating, a child...
So many things he knew he couldn't even attempt to voice the desire for.
Henry disappears for weeks suddenly, only to return demanding a formal duel with Sir Hans.
Little does the young lord know, Henry didn't need him to voice those desires to work towards making them come true for him. In fact, he makes them come true so well that t triggers an intense and fertile heat for his lord soon after he introduces him to their new home.

Hans had to hear of it second hand.

Apparently, his squire had up and gotten himself involved with the Kuttenberg blacksmith guild and taken on an old forge of all things. The young lord did find it odd how often he woke to the bed opposite him empty only a week after Suchdol, but he hadn't expected Henry to have gotten himself so engrossed in one of the Burgher guilds of the local city.

Overhearing rumors of Henry taking on a ruin, Hans is surprised by not only finding a forge worthy of a master blacksmith, but also Henry entertaining his customers in ways that sound entirely too lewd.

Of course, upon realizing that it was his own perverseness tainting an overheard customer, Sir Hans makes a decision to request Kuttenburg's newest master blacksmith to show him blacksmithing in a way that could entertain even a noble such as himself. Like that of what he thought he was overhearing. Up close and personal, but with no labor done on his part.

Hans had a feeling that he was going to Hell for watching the blacksmith's craft with such lewd eyes alone. But Henry more than manages to teach him how to enjoy being the metal worked over his furnace and anvil instead.
