personally, i'm also sceptical of LLMs specifically trained on legal documents. i've seen them reference legislation from the entirely wrong state, and their arguments aren't compelling. but even then, not all legal professionals necessarily understand the difference between that and chatgpt

imo many in the legal profession see LMMs as the future, with such instances unfortunate but unsurprising in the transition/learning curve. neither lawyers nor judges are necessarily more educated on AI than the general public, and some still don't understand exactly what "generative" means
