On May 6, three of us in Eugene Oregon visited a friend of ours in Pleasant Hill, a short distance away. We had a great visit. This is the view from our friend's home.
April 25, Oakway Center, Eugene Oregon. I had lunch at Pastini with friends. It was a social week. Then I stopped off at the Broadway Wine Merchants, a really good wine store. And what did I take a photo of, the bushes next to my car!
The impressive building on the left is the home of The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts. I do not know the history of the building. I should look it up. 2 of 2
April 24, downtown Eugene Oregon. Walking back to my car after having coffee with a great Meetup group. The camera does weird things with the straight lines of buildings, depending on the angle, so I focused on the tree. 1 of 2
April 13, Eugene Oregon, from my living room picture window. This is the kind of sunset where people say - what a sunset! It was an impressive sunset.
March 16, Eugene Oregon, McMenamins North Bank. I had lunch here with friends. The food was good, the views of the Willamette River were beautiful and it was great to see friends. It was too cool for most of us to sit outside. Two photos were shot outside and one inside.

I rarely edit photos anymore, and I do not always change the settings. I let my phone do what it does. I have a Google Pixel 7, but a lot of smartphones let you easily take good photos now, from my non expert photo taking perspective. 2 of 2
February 8, Eugene Oregon. Entrance to my building. A night shot with some external light sources. Rhododendron bushes, affectionately called Rhodies, do well here. 1 of 2
January 28, Eugene Oregon. View from my fourth floor living room window, facing west. I love the winter skies here.
January 27, Eugene Oregon. Amazon Creek, near where I live. "Gloomy" would be a good description, but it's also beautiful. There are days when winter looks like this.
There was a lot of damage. I was lucky that I did not lose power, but a lot of people did. Ice storms are like that.
The views are from my fourth floor window, the main entrance to my building, and a view from another entrance to my building. I had the luxury of not having to go anywhere; I could wait until the ice melted.
I stopped posting, not for any good reason, but I decided to start again. These are views of the ice storm we had in mid January, Eugene Oregon. This is not snow. There was an ice storm, a rare but not unheard of occurrence.
I have the luxury of having a life where I do not have to go out on Saturday or Sunday. Aside from hating the cold, I do not want to risk falling. This is not unheard of, but it is unusual to have the lows be as low as the 20s F, and the highs be as low as 32F. Our power is usually stable.
Here in Eugene Oregon, if the weather continues as predicted, on Saturday and Sunday we will have the abomination of the weather not going above freezing during the day, and what looks like sleet on Saturday, and colder temperatures at night than we usually get
I like to photograph decorations in stores. The next two photos were shot at my local Bi-Mart. There is something wonderfully odd about them too. 2 of 2
December 2023, Eugene Oregon. The first photo - I have this in my kitchen. I just put it on an outlet I do not use, so I can keep it up and lighted. It's wonderfully odd. You can see that the water is evaporating. I may not be able to replace the bulb when it goes, but that's ok. 1 of 2
December 9, 2023, Oakway Center, Eugene Oregon. I had a lovely lunch with friends, then did a little shopping. This appealed to me, on this overcast day.
November 1, 2023, Forrester's Bar & Grill, Eugene Oregon. Halloween with Sasquatch, nice Pacific Northwest reference. I had a late breakfast, the Dungeness crab omelet, which is a western Oregon thing.
October 29, 2023, Eugene Oregon. Autumn where I live. The grounds are nicely landscaped.
October 21, 2023, Eugene Oregon. Amazon Creek, very near my home. Ducks being ducks.
December 25 and 30, 2023, Eugene Oregon. I like winter here. I like the winter sky, and you see more of it, as deciduous trees drop their leaves. View from my bedroom picture window.
No one was behind me. The colors are not the intensely dramatic fall colors of some places, but they are beautiful. I am going to post a few more photos later.
October 17. Here in Eugene Oregon, during autumn I snap photos from my car, though not when the car is moving! I pull off to the side. I do have a quick photo I took while stopped at a light. In this photo I was leaving my parking lot and I put the car in park and took this. (More in a comment)
Some things I did were with people, and some were by myself. I know it looks like I never do things with people, but I do not generally take pictures of people. It was a fun summer.
