FT: Arsenal 1-2 Lyon

Arsenal out-classed tonight. Six months ago, they stunned Lyon in their own back yard but this was a totally different story, with the scoreline flattering the Gunners in the end. Conceded too many chances, were lucky not to lose by more, and created little.

Arsenal make two more subs as Cooney-Cross and Blackstenius replace Caldentey and Russo

Lily Yohannes and Ada Hegerberg coming on for Lyon next. It's not a bad bench...

Brand and Damaris on, with Joseph and Heaps going off

Joseph down in real pain literally minutes after coming on. Looks a bad one. Such a great opportunity for her to get a good half hour in a game like this, too. She's helped off the pitch by two of the physios as Lyon prepare more subs

Katoto should score! Dumornay presses Catley with real intent from a goal-kick and wins the ball back from the Aussie down the right before racing away and crossing for Katoto, who cannot find the target from close range

We're back underway for the second half.

No changes for either side

HT: Arsenal 1-2 Lyon

Lyon much the better side since Dumornay cancelled out Russo's opener. The Haitian added another a few mins later and OL have looked like scoring every time they've been forward since. Terrific double save by DVD just before the break to keep it 1-2

GOAL! Dumornay puts Lyon ahead!

Van Domselaar rolls the ball out to Caldentey who turns without realising Heaps is coming right at her in the middle of the pitch. She robs Caldentey of possession and then the error is punished as Dumornay thumps the ball into the top corner. What a strike. 2-1!

Lyon level things up through Dumornay, after a really poor error from Van Domselaar. Passes it right to Lyon's No.6 to gift her a chance one-on-one. DVD atones with a save on the first effort but can't stop the second. 1-1!

Fantastic feet from Mead, who somehow gets the ball out to Russo despite a ring of five or six Lyon players closing in around her. Clinical finish from the Arsenal striker, too. 1-0!

GOAL! Russo breaks the deadlock!

Arsenal’s Champions League title defence starts here.

Kelly, Mead, Reid and Hinds all come in for the Gunners, who are aiming to avoid extending their winless streak to four games.

Tough test against a stacked Lyon side that has scored 19 goals in their first four league outings.

FT: Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea

A draw probably a fair result on the balance of play, but United may look back on this with a tinge of regret given the pressure they put their opponents under in the second half especially.

Man Utd make a change now just before the hour, as Malard replaces Terland

Early second half sub for Chelsea, as Thompson replaces Kaptein.

She comes out to this left as Beever-Jones moves central, seemingly playing just behind Macario
ameeruszkai.bsky.social
United so close to taking a lead early in this second half, with Hampton only able to gratefully watch on as Rolfo's deflected shot bounced off her bar rather than sneaking in under it

HT: Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea

Entertaining first half here. Pretty even overall, with both teams having good spells and sights of goal. A terrific team goal by Chelsea broke the deadlock, finished off by the very impressive Wieke Kaptein, before Anna Sandberg rifled in an equaliser.
