The entire movie is about women trying to escape an asylum these things were happening at, while tricking themselves to escape the painful reality that was happening, to give themselves strength and hope to get out.

A lot of the criticism I saw was how pointless the movie was, or how it sexualized and trivialized women and issues.

The movie very clearly points out how women were wrongly called insane, and under government care were forcibly tortured, raped, many died, and many lobotomized.

The marketing led the public to believe it was just some action flick with some hot women being awesome, almost like a Charlie’s angels type thing.

But the movie was literally about how women got thrown into insane asylums just because men wanted to. They were raped and tortured, and lobotomized.

Friends watched A Clockwork Orange today. The conversation led to me bringing up Sucker Punch which addressed a few similar themes and concepts from a similar time, except focused on what women went through.

Even today I’m surprised at how poorly Sucker Punch was received… it was a powerful movie.

Ep2 of Wandance.

What a beautifully charming series. I absolutely adore the main character because they display him as truly this awkward dork, but in the most positive and loving way. He doesn't make excuses, he never asks for pity, he recognizes his short comings, and he's earnest and loving.

The series constantly introduces military technology and pushes it that Japan needs to re-arm because foreigners are bad, and this is a result of that. It pushes that Japan will lose its people, its beauty, and culture because it is not a military power. Out of curiosity, I looked up the author.

Shuumatsu Touring airing currently. Post apocalyptic, 2 girls travel around Japan on a motorbike seeing all the places that her sister shared pictures and stories when she visited pre-apoc.

I want to like this series and the premise but after two episodes this series just feels like propaganda.

The anime was quite cute, and a fun series. The comic has that charm but is a lot more. There was a lot of parts concerning the prince, a lot of foreshadowing, as well as backstory that was removed from the anime.

Monica is also painted very differently in the comic, giving her more depth.

Been reading Silent Witch now that the anime ended. I understand why the group that fan translated the series localized it using olde English, it is really not a good localization because it loses a lot of nuance to the characters. Inconsistencies are brought out in class due to lack of distinction.

Silent Hill F hard forces it down your throat how terrible misogyny is and the pain and suffering or women and how they're seen and treated, only to completely flip at the ending to go "Misogyny actually good."

I won't go into detail but it can be considered spoilers. This story is about 1960s women's revolution. 4 endings. In only 1 does she actually reject her treatment and tries to do something, except it's masked. 2 ED have MISOGYNY IS ACTUALLY GOOD!. The last is, "oh, it's actually not your fault".

Silent Hill F started out as a great game and stayed a great game until about 90% through... and then turned into, at best, an absolute pile of shit. There was so much bad writing, contradictions, shit just written off, and parts as if they forgot the entire point and setting of the game in the end.

Kinda weird but as a southern Californian, it’s crazy how 987 has gotten incredibly more conservative and kroq has gotten a lot more leftist in what is being said on the air. On that I’m not listening to 987 anymore.

Past 4 months, I am currently at 140+ applications and resumes sent out with only 4 responses, and 3 interviews for an industry I have 12 years of experience in. 2 interviews they flat out made it clear I’m over qualified and probably will hire someone else they can pay less, and the 3rd ghosted.

Having sent 114 resumes last year and getting ghosted on 100+ of them, I have to admit a cruel reality:

You actually do have a far better chance walking into a business and asking for a job (read between the lines: Being friends/family with someone who works there) than sending dozens of resumes.

All of us live in boxes, but it's crazy how many people genuinely believe their box is the entire fucking world, while many others constantly try to see beyond their walls.

Like, people are really fucking stupid and it's tiring me the fuck out.
