What a lovely idea @annakornbluh.bsky.social ! My last book, FuturePanic, came out in 2021. It's been a minute in poetry world, but as they say, I just needed time to cook— which is to say...stay tuned :)

For @amishtrivedi.bsky.social, C.D. Wright offers an important case study for understanding the role played by contemporary poets & their poetry in relation to academia; it’s a nuanced understanding of an awkward yet important cultural and artistic dynamic. post45.org/2025/11/c-d-...

Saw Nuremberg in the theater this morning (which is also weird) but it was pretty bland? Even the old romantic 2000s miniseries had the room to ask some of the difficult questions that Kelley and Gilbert's work asked (and was sort of answered by Arendt) and they skirted it and then...skipped out.

Some of you spent a dollar (or more) on this and while I only set up the pay thing to get Bandcamp to let me do other things, I am shocked and appreciative.

Much excite for this one— we face some unique issues in poetry world, not just in the sense of literary studies, but also when one starts thinking more broadly in terms of media. Can't wait!
"Challenging the dicta, norms, & implicit biases that have dominated poetry pedagogy for decades, Teaching Poetry Now jump-starts a long overdue discussion of the theories, methods, & stakes of teaching poetry today."

Getting ready to send this one to the printer. 🎉

I think I can probably pull this off, but only on the semesters I've got a poetry workshop. Everyone else...sorry.
this actually looks pretty good on him, I would take this man's French poetry class.

It took me too long (between writing projects and grading and lord knows what else) to read Carlo Rovelli's The Order of Time. I'm not sure I have ever felt more connected to a text.

For my Twin Peaks friends, it sounds like Mar a Lago is basically the perfume counter at Horne's Department Store.

I read Electoral-Vote.com every morning (and have most mornings since they started in 2004) and this is a great:

The Democrats have a huge burden the Republicans don't have: They care about people suffering; Republicans don't care who suffers, even when it is their own base.

A students flight is messed up returning from a grad school interview. I said that missing class for a grad school interview is a completely fine reason to miss. It's like The Ring: if you're passing the misery of academic life along, you're fine.

When you ask a well known, establishment poet to blurb your book and then you spend your life wondering if they ever actually read it.

Today in politics, the neolibs that make up the Democratic Party are more terrified than the conservatives. More bulletins as events warrant.

All this should tell you about 2026 is that it has always been the economy, stupid. The culture war candidates lost tonight and the people talking about the economy won.

Donald Trump having an ass-level window with a toilet immediately next to it is perhaps the very best metaphor for our moment.
