Very excited to be a part of this amazing issue with such fantastic scholars! I discuss the similarities of Jackson and Stephen King’s folkloric characters, the Daemon Lover and the Man in Black, and how they contribute to a neo-folklore for New England 👻

Ah thank you. And that sounds brilliant, what a great idea! When will that be out (if it isn’t already)? I would love to read it!

Thank you! I'm looking forward to exploring more of the double, but especially getting to work more with popular culture alongside literature

I’m especially looking forward to it because, as well as all the expected literature, I’ve somehow managed to include Lost, Succession, Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, and - of course - Mario and his key double adversary, Wario. All the classics are covered here folks!

It’s a similar concept to the Gothic double, but looking more so at the external causations which create female doubles, as opposed to the duality of man which usually constitutes the male Gothic double

Thank you! I hope you enjoy it :)

And I recently published my first chapter, which you can find in the Critical Insights series on Frankenstein!

But beyond this I’m interested in anything in the gothic/horror/sci-fi realm from ancient mythology and folkloric tales to contemporary literature

I’ve officially joined Bluesky, so it’s a good time to introduce myself. I’m currently researching into the female double across literature from nineteenth century to modern day and how they subvert the common archetypes
