U.S. Senator from Minnesota.
Stories like Sashko’s inspire me to keep fighting for kidnapped Ukrainian children.

Russia is wounding them, stealing their names, and trying to erase their culture and homeland. It’s pure evil.

I was proud to stand with these brave kids and their families at the Vatican.

Threatening a U.S. Senator because you don’t like what he said is never acceptable—especially when all he said is that troops should follow the law.
I swore an oath to the Constitution in 1986. I've upheld it through 25 years of service and every day since I retired.

If Trump's trying to intimidate me, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to our country to be silenced by bullies who care more about power than the Constitution.

Small business owners like John and Lisa are hurting as Trump’s tariff taxes raise their operating costs and health care premiums skyrocket. Without action, many will be forced to close their doors or cut staff.

BREAKING: A judge just dismissed the cases against NY AG Letitia James and former FBI Director James Comey.

This was a political prosecution at the President’s direction—brought by a former White House aide appointed to overrule career prosecutors.

President Trump's threats against members of Congress are dangerous and unacceptable. These threats have soared recently, and political violence has taken too many lives—including my friend, former MN House Speaker Melissa Hortman. This dangerous rhetoric must end now.

Big Pharma just lost AGAIN — that’s 16 straight defeats in court!

A federal judge threw out Teva’s lawsuit trying to block Medicare from negotiating lower prices on two of its drugs. I’ll keep working to expand Medicare negotiation so that families can afford their medications.

More evidence that Meta knew its products created unsafe environments for children and teens, but turned a blind eye.

We need rules of the road to hold tech companies accountable and protect kids.

Families across the country are seeing their premiums double and even triple, putting an enormous strain on budgets. Yet President Trump refused to work with us to lower health care costs and used the American people as pawns.

We won’t stop fighting — we will get this done.

I presented Pope Leo XIV with the bipartisan resolution I introduced with Senator Smith honoring the victims, survivors, & heroes of the Annunciation Catholic Church shooting.

Huge congratulations to Minnesota’s own Jessie Diggins on an incredible career as she retires from competitive cross-country skiing! An Olympic gold medalist, you made us all proud. We can’t wait to cheer you on in 76 days!

Minnesotan Jessie Diggins announces upcoming retirement from ski racing
Diggins has won three Olympic medals, three World Cup titles and seven world championship medals in her career — most of which the 34-year-old won while competing with glitter on her cheeks.

The Pope is a moral voice for the world. I met Pope Leo along with a delegation of Ukrainians, including children who had been abducted by Russia, as part of our mission to bring home all the kids Russia has taken.

Ukraine hopes to capitalize on Pope Leo’s calls for peace to coax the Vatican into helping secure the release of children and other prisoners held by Russia.

From Colorado to Virginia and from New Jersey to Mississippi, the people made their voices heard in the elections.

Republicans are trying to rig the maps because they know that by rubber-stamping Trump’s agenda instead of working to lower costs, they’re hurting the people who put them in office.

Tech lobbyists have long blocked commonsense online rules of the road, including for AI.

So states like Minnesota stepped up—passing laws to fight deepfakes and other abuses.

Now the Trump administration is trying to revoke these laws.

We must stand up and ensure AI is used safely.

At the Vatican, I joined a Ukrainian delegation working to return tens of thousands of Ukrainian children taken from their families by Russian forces. I joined these brave parents and children to meet with Pope Leo XIV about efforts to bring these kids home.

Another late night threat by Donald Trump, and this time he’s going after people in just one state w/ legal status. Maybe the President should spend his evenings working on bringing down costs instead of targeting Somalis who have been in our country for years. Think about it.

At the Vatican, I presented Pope Leo XIV with a Senate resolution honoring the victims and survivors of the mass shooting at the Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis.

We pray for those we lost, the recovering survivors, and the entire Annunciation community.

It was an honor to meet Pope Leo XIV, a true moral force for peace and justice.

I joined a Ukrainian delegation to speak to him about the Russian abduction of Ukrainian kids.

Any path towards peace must start with returning the kidnapped children.

At the Vatican today to meet with Pope Leo XIV to discuss the horror of Ukrainian kids kidnapped by Russia. Will also be joined by Ukrainian families who have experienced this firsthand.

The Pope understands that we cannot accept a world where children are used as pawns of war.

When the SS Edmund Fitzgerald tragically sunk in 1975, investigations by the Coast Guard led to major changes to improve the safety of Great Lakes shipping.

50 years later, Minnesota remains grateful for the work of our Coast Guard heroes who are always ready when disaster strikes.

Instead of protecting Americans from AI abuses, this Executive Order goes after states—even threatening access to rural broadband—for putting in place basic guardrails for consumers, children, and creators.

The Senate already rejected this, and it should be rejected again.
Breaking news: The Trump administration is drafting an executive order that would direct the Justice Department to sue states that pass laws regulating artificial intelligence, according to a copy reviewed by The Post.
White House drafts order directing Justice Department to sue states that pass AI regulations
The draft order comes after Republicans in Congress failed to pass a federal ban on state AI regulation, as more lawmakers raise concerns about the technology.

It’s about time corporate landlords are held accountable for using algorithms to price-gouge renters.

Tech like AI should be used to drive prices down, not help corporations collude to charge you more.

I’ll keep working to make housing more affordable.
It’s hard to afford your life when your landlord is illegally coordinating with their rivals to keep your rent as high as possible.

I will keep fighting to end these unjust practices and to make the market fairer for renters.

U.S. Army Captain Willibald Bianchi of New Ulm showed extraordinary courage in WWII, fighting through multiple wounds and earning the Congressional Medal of Honor. After more than 80 years, his remains have been identified, and his family will finally be able to lay him to rest.

Trump does not trump the Constitution.

While he threatens the rule of law, takes health care away from Americans, and raises costs, we need to focus on fighting back in the Courts, in Congress, and at the ballot box.
November 19, 2025 at 10:17 PM
Trump ordered the Justice Department to investigate his political opponents while protecting and rewarding his friends.

The Justice Department is supposed to work for the American people—not be the president’s personal law firm.

I visited all 87 counties in Minnesota again this year! From soybean farmers hit by tariffs to childcare providers facing workforce challenges & families struggling with rising health care premiums—the stories I heard drive me to keep fighting to get things done.
