As someone who has received violently threatening phone calls and targeted for immigration work, it is incredibly out of touch for @mikiesherrill.bsky.social to suggest political violence only happens to politicians like her.

@njaij.bsky.social closed our office last week due to credible threats.

Now in my adult years, I have lived in NJ for a smidge longer than I lived in west TX where I was born and raised.

One constant reminder of this is that my phone now autocorrects “honky tonk” to “honky TONY” — arguably one of the most Texan words subbed for the most Jersey word.
