Please share with your networks!

Let's talk about hobbies!

Hobbies and activities are lots of fun & can make a big difference to young people's wellbeing and life skills...but they can also be pricey and hard to access.

Share our survey with young people to help improve hobbies in Scotland 👇

Thanks to @forceschildscot.bsky.social for the opportunity to talk about my favourite topic!

All children and young people should have the chance to take part in a hobby of their choice. It’s important to understand what could make this a reality for children and young people from forces families.

We’ve had a great response to this survey. Thanks to those who have filled it in.

There’s still time to share your views - and if you happen to live in the Western Isles or East Dunbartonshire we’d be particularly pleased to hear from you - the only 2 areas we haven’t had any responses from (yet!)

Survey closing 31 July!

Do you think Scotland should have a national policy which supports children and young people to access free hobbies?

If you are a parent or carer of a child/young person aged 4-17 years then make sure you share your views!

Earlier today the UK Government released new figures showing that 1.66 million children in the UK are affected by the two-child limit. The UK Government must scrap this unjust policy and put an end to a system that views some children as more deserving of support than others.

In Finland & Iceland, national policy supports children and young people to have free access to hobbies.

We want to know what parents & carers in Scotland think: could this work here?

It's been 8 unhappy years since the two-child limit was introduced. The government could scrap it immediately & lift 350,000 children out of poverty – and provide a economic boost to local areas. Read the latest @endchildpoverty.bsky.social report - endchildpoverty.org.uk/two_child_li...
