It would be super duper cool if, in the face of fascist threats, our Mayor & City Council stood up to defend the people that live in this city.

It’s almost like… they also want to criminalize unhoused people & Black young people in the city 🧐

I met Gabi in 2018, when she was a law student at Howard. For over a year I’d see her every 2 weeks as we helped unhoused folks deal with the city during the routine “encampment cleanups.” She taught me so much about homelessness & kindness & hope. Thank you for everything Gabi! RIP.

Last week, Daniel was involuntarily committed during an encampment eviction. He was almost instantly released, but most of his belongings were destroyed. This is a common tactic used in this city to clear encampments.

The federal surge didn’t end in DC.

It became entrenched. ICE is still riding with MPD. We have “local control” back & people are still being detained & deported. National Guard is still here with long guns pacing our streets.

We were able to add another person to the list of unhoused & recently housed folks we send $150 to every month! We are in the process of sending this money out to 16 folks now! Thank you all!!! Love & Solidarity!

Steve is fine/uninjured. Some neck pain from being tackled.

His biggest concern while in custody was what was happening to people outside the facility since he couldn't hear any of the munitions from inside.

In typical Steve fashion, he also made a number of new friends while detained.

In our holding cell last night, there were 7 white men, two Black men, and one trans woman. In the women’s cell there was one woman.

7 protesters were released last night. You already know which ones those were and which ones were shackled and transferred to an unknown location.
