What sucks if the Jays lose this series is that this might just be a team that caught lightning in a bottle. Free agency could leave this team with big holes at short and in the rotation, and this team doesn’t do a great job attracting free agents. #BlueJays

I got to see the Jays win two World Series in my formative years. That’s the kinda thing that no matter what happens, no future team will ever compare to. But…

If they’re smart they get ahead of it and start the rebuilding now instead of waiting for a couple of mediocre seasons that’s are about to happen. Say what you will about Marner in the playoffs but without him in the regular season I’m not sure they’re even a playoff team.

Marner walks. As bad as they are in the playoffs, without him they aren’t even a good regular season team. Nothing much available in free agency to replace him. I think they need to explore convincing Matthews and Nylander to waive NTCs and start over completely from scratch.
