Landlords are running a business. They need to be accountable, transparent & responsive to the tenant. If the landlord lives off the rent & does not put aside money for repair, maintenance & property emergencies that is not the fault of the tenant.
The property must always be safe & habitable.

Brisbane has successfully turned a pretty and pleasant city into wide hot grey strips of concrete, asphalt and steel.
It went for busways over light rail or metros, carved out tunnels in and under suburbs. The railway stations are so full of full grey mesh they look like juvenile detention centres.
