Who Killed The King?🫅🪓

1649 was a year that changed Britain forever. Found guilty of treason against his people, King Charles was executed in January, and England would temporarily become a republic. But who was the man tasked with the burden of killing a king?

You no longer need to belong to the Catholic Church to be a religious pedophile.
The pattern of "religious" men abusing children is real and documented. It's infuriating that LGBTQ+ people bear the brunt of moral panic rhetoric while the actual harm to children is coming from the very people doing the loudest screaming about "protecting" them. #NotADragQueen

He should have kept his “prince” in his pants.
The only items on the CV for head of the UK state is who your dad slept with (were they married) and was your dad from one particular family?
Nothing else matters. Nothing.
You get titles, taxpayer money, power, influence, palaces, a church; and the right to jizz the next one into existence.

Tackling the cost of living crisis goes hand in hand with tackling the climate crisis.

We need food security, insulated homes, and cheap renewable energy.
UK food inflation is being driven by climate change-induced extreme weather, driving up price of butter, milk, beef, chocolate & coffee

The price rises in those staples is contributing 40% of overall food inflation

Climate change is hitting peoples' pockets, right now

As the US faffs about with declining fossil fuels, China has leapt forward to become the uncontested global leader in clean energy -- and not just on the cheap labor/commodity side, either. They're beating us on research, startups, & patents.

A surge in high quality research and patent applications has cemented China’s dominance in the industry.

If I put the Daily Mail on a nail in the bathroom, my arse would rebel.
If a President, or a tolerated member of their family turned out to be involved with a sex trafficker (or any other criminal endeavour), we could get rid of them.
Monarch is a job for life. You get no choice who does it.
You wouldn’t tolerate a Member of Parliament being hereditary?
In Trump’s world, they are trafficked.
It’s time to have a head of state that doesn’t fit the 9th century profile.
We need a democratically elected head of state, answerable to the citizens and ideally not from a family that tolerates friends and supporters of a pedophile.

🚨 Another massive AWS outage just took down Roblox, Fortnite, Coinbase, Snapchat, and all Supercell games.

Half the internet has gone dark because of one Big Tech company. This is not innovation, it is monopoly risk.

💡It’s time to choose alternatives.

The move was prompted in part by fears that Nexperia’s owner was undermining the semiconductor firm in favour of his Chinese companies, and in part by threats from America

A leaked Russian document provides a baseline for Russian losses between 1 January and 1 September this year. According to the document, Russian forces suffered 281,550 casualties in those 245 days:

86,744 killed in action
33,996 missing in action
158,529 wounded in action
2,311 captured
Russia now may be losing 50,000 troops a month — and Putin has no easy options
We don't know for sure how many Russian troops are dying in Ukraine right now. But it's more than the Kremlin can replace.

“Saudi Arabia has one of the worst human rights records in the world,” thundered the Daily Mail in September, slamming comedians like Jimmy Carr and Jack Whitehall for performing there.

Equally important is not allowing Putin any avenue to think we are weak in our resolve. Even considering leaving NATO will give him something to attack, to issue misinformation and sow mistrust.
Putin des not respond to “peace” any more than Chamberlain’s famous piece of paper In the 1930s.
Exploring and testing a hypothesis requires we go to those uncomfortable places and in a time of Putin I agree; NATO is not the only answer but it is part of the answer. The nuclear deterrent is another part; supporting Ukraine; sanctions; data integrity; fact checking; etc.
Fundamentally different from what and when?
Do you apply the same logic to the ECHR? The world has changed, ECHR membership is fundamentally different to the founding so we cannot consider belonging to it?
It is too easy to lose the nuance in bad messaging; also too easy to become emotional.
@NordVPN I really expect more from you.
Do you really think that taking what I already have for FREE and making it a subscription is somehow an “upgrade”?
This is the sort of tortured logic Apple uses. You are REMOVING part of what is already in the main subscription and making it a paywall item.
