While TWINKLE TWINKLE LUCKY STARS humor is mostly cringeworthy the action is some of the very best from this era of HK cinema. Everyone gets their chance to shine with hard hitting action and bone breaking stunt work. Yuen Biao’s kick off the box is a thing of beauty!

Okay, I don't know how this happened but somehow I wrote an essay for the Imprint release of HARD BOILED. I will be carrying it around showing it to strangers for now on.

This week Lindsay & @wfreeman2112.bsky.social go back to our childhood trauma with a Double of All Dogs Go to Heaven & Return to Oz. Kids Movies from the 1980s did a lot of things, giving you a warm hug was not one of them

A huge thanks to @wfreeman2112.bsky.social for coming on to talk about how weird the 1980s actually were. Both Bluth and Merch were fascinating film makings that loved working in the details. Which means
tonally they are all over the place.

Rewatch complete of Christophe Ĝans’ horror/romance/martial arts classic. Stylishly directed, gorgeous costume, set and creature design elevated by beautiful action, dazzling fights and tons of violence. Great cast Dacascos shines and Cassel chews all the scenery. Pure cinema!

Even after all these years Only The Strong gets me in the feels when the students come together and stand up for their Mestre. Dacascos has it all and should be a household name but those that know know! Classic 90s action!

Plowing through this series and Matt Dinniman continues to deliver an insanely entertaining LitRPG. Terrific character development, fantastic world design and some of my favorite boss battles to date. Jeff Hays continues to blow my mind as the audiobook narrator! Bring on book 5!

Rewatch complete of this 90s DTV gem! It’s Seven with martial arts, HK style choreography and direction so of course it absolutely rules. Daniels and Jeffreys are good but the late great Darren Shahlavi is having a blast. Tons of fights, some cheesy acting and music pure 90s gold!

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms continues to be one of the best series on television. Excellent characters, fantastic writing and phenomenal performances. Episode 4 delivers one of the best of the season and history of GOT. A true stand up and cheer moment!

Agreed, I loved this, and as a #TwinPeaks fanatic, the extra details on the Brooks-Lynch connection are delightful.

I wish I could watch The Elephant Man again but it would break me.
An intimate and unflinching look at a comedy icon who shaped not only my sense of humor but many others as well. Deeply personal and moving look at the man and his career and personal highs and lows all while making us laugh. A beautiful documentary that’s a must see for fans!
