James Nunn continues to be one of the most consistent and talented directors bringing us entertaining DTV flicks. By the numbers crime caper elevated by Beckinsale who is great, Lewis Tan effortlessly stealing the movie along with plenty of varied and violent hard hitting action.

Truly worth the wait as the Duffer Brothers are bringing their A game with a thrilling and epic start to this terrifying and shockingly violent final season. The cast is excellent and everyone gets a chance to shine while new characters fit in perfectly. Excited for part two!

Look at this fucking guy, he does not deserve a car that nice. Fuck it should be easy for me and the boys to mess him up and take that car. Oh this'll be fun let's kill his dog too. Wait... what did you say his name was?
Surely me and my buddies can trap Jackie Chan in this warehouse full of home goods. He has no weapons to defend himself with, should be a piece of cake.
well look at that, it's that Jack Reacher guy. and me with a gun. I bet if I stick this gun in his face he won't be able to take it away from me. anyway worst case scenario I'll run away - I mean how fast can that big lug run, anyway

Expected this to be style over substance but it’s got a real heart to it on top of the god tier action. Ep 6 being almost entirely dialogue free and hitting those pristine emotional beats was phenomenal. Great setup for season 2 also.

One of my biggest surprises of the year!! So much fun!!
I had a great time with Steven (PSYCHO GOREMAN) Kostanski's reimagining of DEATHSTALKER, an absurdly awesome practical effects fantasia and excellent starring vehicle for Daniel Bernhardt (seen here with swamp monster friend).

I was a child of the 1980s, but not of HBO or Showtime. That’s probly why I never saw DEATHSTALKER (1983) until last week. Still, I knew the idea of

Rewatch complete of Tong Kai’s second directorial effort highlighted by jaw dropping fight choreography and ahead of its time wire work. Yee and Pai Piao are a terrific duo and I wish they’d have done more films together. Average story elevated by fantastic action sequences!

Rewatch complete of this John Woo action classic. Van Damme and mullets have never looked as cool as under Woo’s watchful eye. Henriksen is perfectly over the top while Vosloo is calculating and chilling. Stylized bloody action, jazzy soundtrack and slow-mo make this memorable.

Few things better than a training scene in a kung fu flick and Lau Kar-leung was one of the very best and MAD MONKEY KUNG FU highlighted what made him such a special director. Hsiao Ho may be one of the most physically gifted performers ever and this gives him a chance to shine!
