I love it when an @earlyexcellence.bsky.social room plan comes together!
Great to meet the lovely team at St Michael’s School in Pelsall today.
I’m in St Bees, Cumbria for an @earlyexcellence.bsky.social room plan.
It’s pretty wild here!
Absolutely!! Wonderful to see. Thank you for sharing! 😊
Yes, I love the way that it looks to have been drawn with confidence. It’s not a tentative drawing. The curves are almost drawn with a flourish! Wonderful to see😊

Nursery child draws a trumpet suspended by a cord from the ceiling.

His noticing eye and hand capture the mathematics of shape, space, number, angle, design, valves, finger buttons…

We see the anatomy of a trumpet.

A nursery child starts their journey into the world of recorded mathematics in classic style:

“Look…I’m doing maths…my big brother does maths!”

Joy!

EYFS child painting flowers:

He looks through the glass jar at the water the flowers stand in.

‘How do you draw water?’ he asks

“That’s a big question” I respond “Lots of artists have wondered about that”

“I know, I’ll draw the waves inside it!”
Good morning Sarah 😊
Looking forward to a day of filming at the @earlyexcellence.bsky.social Studio!

A great example of being attentive to children’s questions and having the confidence to enable children to go ‘off track’ beyond what is planned #slowpedagogy

I use clay all the time with children and young people. Research shows that manipulating clay is therapeutic and clay is also forgiving. If a child creates something that doesn't align with what they had in mind, they can squish it and start again. #edusky
