The 1A law is very clear: there are “less restrictive means” of protecting kids online. Like safety tools Google and Apple currently offer parents. Filtering software is both less restrictive than age verification and often more effective, as the Court found in Ashcroft.

Age verification is a policy idea which just won’t die, despite being repeatedly struck down in court.
This is just the latest attempt to spin it with a new twist - by putting the responsibility on app stores. But that doesn’t make age verification any more constitutional.
