11/ The North York Moors, dominated by around 15 huge grouse moor estates, is generally comprised of shallower peat than other parts of the English uplands.

But the new 30cm rule ought to bring far more of these estates in scope of the burning ban.

Karoo Gariep Nature Reserve in North Cape South Africa. A fantastic place to see Aardvarks, Aardwolves, Porcupines, Cape Fox, Wild Cats. Great birding destination also and accomodation.

A few of the Yorkshire birders slumming it on Flock to Marion 2025, another great trip to these sub Antarctic Islands. Many unusual cetacean species, albatrosses, petrels, penguins and shearwaters.

There are two species of Lousewort in the UK, however 352 species recognised in China. Here are three from Sichuan in June, Oeder`s Lousewort or possibly stylosa, Pedicularis davidii and Pedicularis semitorta. So many fantastic plants on the Tibetan plateau.

Minster Way Day 1: Enjoyable walk across Arram Carrs and countryside from Beverley to Bainton with Alison Richard and Sian. 15 Cattle Egrets, 8 Great Egrets, 4 Little Egrets on the Carrs with 4 Red Kites during the walk and plenty of Redwing and Fieldfare.

North Yorkshire: Dalby Forest / Haygate circuit this afternoon in lovely conditions. Raven over, otherwise Willow Tit, 3 Marsh Tits, 11 Crossbill and all the usual suspects.
