Kuenssberg and Peston appear to be the BBC’s and ITV’s leading political journalists respectively.

Both of them are far too cosy with the political establishment to be holding them to account.

It’s powder puff journalism.

Oh it's had many positives - it's just that the car has taken a pounding and I miss my wife and kids. Met some great people and learnt all about a new industry.

I wonder why the word 'guilty' keeps coming up when I see this clip?
KAITLAN COLLINS: What would say to Epstein survivo---

TRUMP: You are so bad. You are the worst report. No wonder CNN has no ratings. She's a young woman. I don't think I've ever seen you smile. They should be ashamed of you.

I am today finishing a brand strategy assignment that has taken almost 18 months. In that time, I have driven from Gloucestershire to Yorkshire every Sunday night. It has been a fantastic project with lovely people and a beautiful result but good god I am looking forward to being back at home.

It's also becoming clear that the Epstein Files are even worse than people thought and that's with all the redactions. It's a potentially seminal moment for American politics and business - an opportunity to clean it up or to sweep it under the carpet and maintain the status quo.

The only way that house of cards will fall is for those not in the files to hold their nerve, prosecute and convict. Otherwise there will be no consequences.
February 4, 2026 at 3:16 PM
I haven't paid particular attention to his case apart from headline and I'm not defending him in any way. At worst he knew and at best he turned a blind eye to it. Whichever one it was his motivation was greed and he deserves what's coming.

I think we might be comparing different people. I'm being specific to Mandelson. I am not aware of that specific allegation against him.
February 4, 2026 at 11:49 AM
Yup, the Epstein files are probably existential for the US as they involve a sizeable cabal of the most powerful political and business people in the country.

It's a house of cards waiting to fall.
One by one, Europeans mentioned in the Epstein files who still hold political office are beginning to resign or are being forced out of office.

Meanwhile, ruled by an administration almost entirely made up of Epstein associates, the US carries on as if nothing really happened.

There are definitely worse people.
February 4, 2026 at 11:06 AM
Agree on both. Re BBC balance - it annoys enough people from all parts of the political spectrum to tell me it generally does a good job.

I confess to watching her Sunday morning show quite often. My wife and kids find it amusing as they hear me shout at the screen. It's become a bit of a ritual and, I suspect, therapy of some kind for me.
February 4, 2026 at 9:58 AM
Exactly this.

We all know that there are now and have always been far worse people in the House of Lords and Parliament.

They just either haven't been caught, or when they have, others with vested interest have turned a blind eye.
Is Mandelson's real sin that he gave confidential information to Epstein? Or that he got caught doing what so many do? Why do Ministers sell access to business people for huge 'donations'?
February 4, 2026 at 9:54 AM
Exactly this, James. It’s a window into a very rotten world.
February 3, 2026 at 5:22 PM
This is both incredibly disappointing and yet entirely to be expected. Whatever happened to due diligence and standards?

Just seen this reel on Instagram. Some of it looks AI generated but it didn't half pull on the nostalgia strings. It's easy to think 'life was better' but it's also hard not to feel that we had a far more privileged youth than today's constantly watched kids.

We need to somehow find the courage and resolve to make sure they aren’t too big to fail.

Weird you post this today. I went to Wickes to buy a ladder this afternoon. Granted it was a big one to access our gutters but £188 meant I still don’t have one.

Easy mistake to make.

Don’t believe the haters. This is an excellent review of Melania. 10 out of 10.

Justice is on trial. If there are no trials and convictions it will be very difficult to deny that justice is being bought by the rich and powerful. That appears to be one of the lessons of the last decade. It’s rotten.

Appearing to show……

Appearing?

Maybe he’s actually playing snooker.
