The Skerries lighthouse, located 1.9 miles off the NW coast of Anglesey, was first lit #onthisday in 1717, warning ships of the rocks and guiding them to Liverpool port. Its story is told in my new book Lighthouses of Wales. lighthouses.wales/lighthouses-...

110 years ago on the 11th of September 1915 the first meeting of the first branch of the WI was held in Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll, Anglesey.
