Does anyone have a recommended estimate or range for writing APCs into NIH grants? How’d you determine that? Of course if/when APC caps happen, there’s your answer. #medlibs #scholcomm

So is PubMed/MEDLINE is still getting updated.

Based on yesterday's update files things are still happening... ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/updat...

Not really sure what long-term implications are (if the shutdown continues).

Any ideas #medlibs?

This hasn’t come up where I work but #meded doesn’t use a lot of textbooks. I did have a nursing faculty ask for electronic access to book that is considered a textbook by the vendor and not available to libraries for purchase

Question specifically for #medlibs: does your medical education program(s) expect you to provide access to course texts? And by expect, I mean really come down hard and firm about it?

Please remember that many databases and resources get their data or information from PubMed “Because of a lapse in government funding, the information on this website may not be up to date…”

The government shutdown is going to affect the MEDLINE component of all the platforms that hold MEDLINE, right?

Probably. A friend re DOCLINE“Due to the Government lapse in funding, NLM will not be able to lend; however, lending between DOCLINE Participant libraries may continue. Please note that assistance with and updates to the system will be unavailable until the shutdown is over.”

Save the date for the EBSCOhost Idea Exchange, an open forum for questions, solutions, and all things new-UI-related on Nov. 19, 12-1:30pm Central! Invite is making the rounds on the usual channels, so keep an eye out (or DM for an ics). Sponsored by the MLA UX Caucus but all are welcome! #medlibs

Censorship at the CDC. Again.

Two dozen websites were removed, including resources for health equity, disability, and LGBTQ+ care.

"I'm not on that committee" is a longstanding #medlibs joke but preferable than termination & 2 consultants when it comes to advisory feedback about MEDLINE. More about that & a Sept 25th update about a European alternative PubMed project. eagledawg.blogspot.com/2025/09/medl...

Any #medlibs (or others) have info on transcare.ucsf.edu/guidelines going offline? Hoping it's a technical issue, but given the times I'm wary.

Only found out about this today (we use it for DOCLINE delivery): "The NNLM will end support for delivery.nnlm.gov on Friday, December 19th 2025. The document delivery site will no longer be available after that date, and it will not be replaced with a similar service." #MedLibs
