LAKEVIEW NOLA (2021-2025)

Four-year-old Lakeview Nola finished first in her race at The Meadows, Vic, on Oct 4 - but fell when entering the catching pen, suffering severe head and spinal trauma.

She died.

SIX MINUTES FROM DEATH

There is no safe way to leave your dog in your car.

Even a vehicle parked in the shade or with a window lowered can quickly turn into an oven.

On a 23-degree Celsius day, the temperature inside a car can reach over 40 degrees Celsius.

Greyhound handlers in Vic have been seen roughly grabbing dogs by their tail to manipulate them into the boxes - a practice known as 'tail lifting'.

GRV said they will work to prevent this.

Absolutely. It seems counter-intuitive that he was so well behaved in a loving household - so great, in fact, that the foster carers dearly wanted to keep him.

Only to be told that back in the shelter he had behavioural issues and the only course of action was to kill him.
