I wish I had more time with this sweet, sweet boy. The house already feels empty without him. I tried to send him off with as much love as I could. These little lives are so precious. I loved Chip so so much and will miss him. Love your furry friends.

Gonna take a bit of a break from social media. My poor kitty Chip has taken a turn for the worse. He has kidney failure and is not eating. Hospice at home. If he doesn’t improve by Saturday it looks like that’s the day we will put him down. The vet says he isn’t suffering. Filling him with love.

This book is really fantastic. It explores Hayao Miyazaki by looking at the media and themes that influenced him. It’s a really smart way to discuss an artist.

This weekend Gkids released 2 must see films in the U.S. and Canada. Perfect Blue 4K all weekend, and Monday only 100 metres. 100 meters is co directed by Kenji Iwaisawa and Stephanie Sheh. Iwaisawa previously directed one of my favourite animes of recent years: On Gaku: Our Sound.

Letting Tubi‘s algorithm choose my next animated movie pt 5. When there are hard to find animations - normally international or independent releases - I turn to Tubi and then Kanopy. China has become the country to watch and is now in the tier with the U.S. and Japan. Deep sea is breathtaking.,,

Letting Tubi‘s algorithm choose my next animated movie pt 4. I was really hoping this experiment would find some hidden gems I had never heard of, and it paid off today. Oink is far from perfect. It owes a great debt to Babe and has a shocking amount of poo jokes…

Which is that it’s really hard to make a film for preschool kids. In between watches of The Emoji Movie or The Paw patrol movie, the fact that this has some light chuckles, actual character, and fun animation makes it better than most of the dreck aimed at this age. Watch with a 3 year old. C-

Letting Tubi‘s algorithm choose my next animated movie pt 3. I laughed when My Little Pony: The Movie came up, because I last saw it in theaters. My 4 year old son really wanted to see it. Rewatching it now I have the same reaction. I’ll damn it with faint praise…

Letting Tubi‘s algorithm choose my next animated movie pt 2. I guess I’m on the algorithm for Deaf Crocodile releases. Felidae is a horror film and suspense mystery with cats. I have recommended hard watches before, including Plague Dogs, but this movie is so dire and the plot so convoluted…
