“I see this as a continuation of what I tried to do all my life: democratizing code, systems, knowledge. LLMs are going to help us to write better software, faster, and will allow small teams to have a chance to compete with bigger companies. The same thing open source software did in the 90s.”

anyways, i definitely believe that the actual future of LLMs is at least partially local - both in terms of data safety (personally i don't like leaking every single prompt i type to who knows where) and in terms of control - some people will definitely want to have assurance that this will last

Time for my big year end blogpost about the Atmosphere.

From the personal computing perspective, the cloud has been a disaster — but we shouldn't run away from it.

We can solve a lot of problems by connecting our clouds, turning it into atmospheric computing.
Atmospheric Computing
Cloud computing has been extremely successful, but it lost the values that drove personal computing. We can solve this by evolving forward.

We need a human right to opt out of ads. Every company above size x has to publish average per user ad revenue and give an option to opt out for that price not more. Its connected to the right of algorithmic control over our feeds wich is harder to do but would subsume this right.
