A fatberg the size of a blue whale has been removed from Oxford’s sewers. It took two weeks to remove the 120-tonne lump of congealed fat, oil, grease and wipes, while maintaining Oxford’s wastewater flow and guarding against high gas levels elevated by the fatberg.

These are not in any way easily mode-switchable trips though (unlike any of the other stuff inside this central zone where a charge in unavoidable).

Would be great if the county was up for funding the inevitable shortfall / alternatives but I'm not super optimistic about that

As you pass under the Bridge of Sighs, the gothic spire of Essex College chapel flashes into view for a moment before being lost behind the Sheldonian again. Sublime.
