They had to organise it without police protection because government refused to help. So they arranged a huge number of volunteers to block the roads. Unfortunately today there were several arrogant drivers who refused to turn their car around when being stopped and kept pushing through 😠
The final was crazy! Also fun to see Trentin win it though. And no UAE in the front is a blessing these days! They won 2 races today anyhow, in Italy and gravel 🤷🏻♀️ but the latter is more for Belgium and he deserved it after a great race. Last day of double cycling race watching this year is over 😒
I'm also still grumpy, but that's mostly because of the Yara Kastelijn action 😠 she knew she could never win, riding to the finish line with Vos and Wiebes in her wheel! So why did she close the gab on her roommate from the past European race 🙉
No, it's almost impossible. In road Worlds the national coach selects the riders and makes a plan to go for the win together. Here everyone who places him/herself can ride. So you get a huge nr of Dutch riders going for it themselves. And also teamtactics get the upper hand, like here SDWorx showed.
That's no comparison at all as he was only winning Tours and didn't ride away in solos through the whole year in any race! I also was bored with the Sky train, but this is another level destroying my cycling enthusiasm the whole year around 🤷🏻♀️
It was insane!! Van Anrooij was heartbroken in a Dutch interview, saying they had such good teamspirit in the Dutch team the past weeks and she always helps others, so why didn't they let her ride away...also Kastelijn was her roomie so they makes it even more stupid 🙉
Probleem bij gravel WK met zoveel Nederlandse rijders die kunnen winnen en vooraan rijden, is dat het vanzelf toch 1 tegen 1 wordt. Maar hier werd het uiteindelijk vooraan team SD Workx tegen Shirin vooraan en daar bovenop nog de bizarre actie van Kastelijn. Die had dit nooit kunnen winnen, echt 🤯
