I was talking to my British friend about Norwegian swear words, and I came to think about this absolutely glorious article
Okay with «horse cock», but not «pussy face» It is now legally established that it is okay to call police in Northern Norway «horse cocks» but calling them «pussy faces» will cost you dearly. A man in his 30s has been fined 7,000 kroner by Alstahaug District Court for calling the police the unflattering word «pussy face». In Northern Norway though, these types of remarks have been acquitted. A 48-year-old from Indre Finnmark was acquitted of calling a police officer a «horse cock». The majority of the court then held that this is an everyday expression in the region and had to be tolerated by the police
