So Banba is often used poetically to symbolize Ireland, with poets declaring their love for “her” (the land). But in Flann Mainistrech’s (1050s) poem he uses Áine to declare her love to Banba instead. So.... I really like the idea that every single love poem to Banba is actually Áine writing them.

Perpetua and Felicity are 3rd-century North African paired saints. Some consider them lesbian saints or patrons of it. The historian John Boswell named Perpetua and Felicity as one of the three primary pairs of same-sex saints in the early church in his book "Same Sex Unions in Pre-Modern Europe".
