The Warsaw Rising Museum is a must for anyone wishing to understand Poland. It documents anti-Nazi activities by the Home Army and other resistance groups constituting the Polish Underground State.

Buildings, streets and homes are preserved. You can view weapons and uniforms from the era.

Ptasie Mleczko is the name of a popular Polish treat. It is a tiny chocolate bar with a soft filling, usually vanilla-flavoured. The name means "bird's milk" and refers to a legendary substance that is wonderful and rare.

Many different varieties and flavours of the snack are produced today.

Włochy is a quiet neighbourhood in the southwest of Warsaw.

It features lots of parkland with ponds where ducks and coots swim happily. New apartment blocks sit side by side with old homes, some in dire need of restoration. Traditional market stalls sell fruit and vegetables beside modern cafes.

Bródno Sculpture Park in the eastern part of Warsaw is the perfect place to take a stroll and enjoy some art. A variety of works from international artists allow residents to explore diverse styles and perspectives.

The park is close to the Kondratowicza and Bródno Metro stations on Line 2. #art

Many of Park Arkadia’s structures seem to lie in ruins, with crumbling remnants of columns and weathered stonework offering the feel of a classical temple.

But this run-down approach is intentional. They represent a quiet rebellion through gardening and architecture.

Elektrownia Powiśle was once an important power plant in Warsaw. Today, it's a vibrant mall with an amazing food hall. The interior is decorated with authentic components and art made from salvaged material.

During WWII, resistance fighters were active in the area, building an improvised tank.

Park Arkadia in Gmina Nieborów near Łódż is a beautiful 18th century garden featuring a variety of architectural marvels. Admire the temples to ancient gods and wander the paths around the artificial lakes.
