Dr.Hotez has suggested that diseases in the "flyover" regions were ignored by the media. I don't see that as being so. My thought is that there are in the US demographics that effectively are internal colonies. Morbidity and mortality in these are ignored, if not accepted.

The Marvelous Murph takes a nap with little rescue girl Thistle close by. Murph was a wild kitten who became separated from his mom. Thistle was living outside. A Metro Cat Rescue volunteer brought Thistle in when raccoons began chasing her away from the food.
