I FOIA'd CISA for records related to its acting director's polygraph tests. (www.politico.com/news/2025/12...) CISA says it won't release the records because they relate to "a pending or reasonably anticipated law enforcement proceeding, which may include any type of administrative proceeding."

We don't know what Ivana Horyn thinks about polygraphy. One would hope she would have learned over the course of her career that it's junk science. But DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is an enthusiastic supporter of polygraph screening: antipolygraph.org/blog/2025/04...

You're in good company. The FBI has a pre-employment polygraph failure rate on the order of 50%. It's clear that many honest applicants are wrongly branded as liars. I've shared my experience, which occurred shortly after the FBI first began polygraphing applicants, here: antipolygraph.org/s/gwm

On this day in 2015, the late polygraph critic Doug Williams began serving a 2-year prison sentence in Florence, Colorado. He had been targeted for entrapment by federal polygraph operators who were upset that he had been teaching people how to pass or beat a polygraph "test."

Note also that polygraph "tests" are pseudoscientific nonsense. That the U.S. intelligence community relies on them so heavily—let alone at all—speaks to its deep-rooted incompetence.
