I raised my hand to knock on the coffin wooden door. What was I thinking? Mom’s house was always open. Inside, the waft of apple pie. The walls were darker as if recently stained. The kettled whistled a familiar tune. Where had I heard that before? It wasn’t coming from the kettle. Mom?#WriteCBC
