What is happening in Gaza will be a permanent stain on the world's collective conscience.

History will never forget how our government was complicit in enabling and sustaining this ongoing humanitarian disaster.

We must end funding for the Netanyahu war machine.

6) Just 25% of US adults say they expect their finances to look better in five years than today.

That’s lower even than at the nadir of the Great Recession.

När man diskuterar "etablissemanget" är det viktigt ha detta i åtanke. Den ekonomiska eliten är ljusår före alla andra.

Yet another study (this time by Claudia Goldin) that uses cross-sectional data, and finds evidence for a U-shaped pattern for gender equality and fertility, even though this pattern does not exist for (almost) any country across time.

From what I have understood, we have not seen a decline in partnership formation in Sweden, but important to keep monitoring these trends across age groups.
Lovers share their hopes & dreams.

Living together, they share stories about their days, and learn about different perspectives.

If 50% of young Americans are single, this may have social implications - potentially less empathy between men & women.

Blushed when I discovered that our paper on class network and attitudes is reviewed in this post. 😊
It's Monday, so I wrote about four interesting new sociology papers.

- Firms and the motherhood penalty
- FMLA and women's managerial representation
- Fertility decline and gender pay gap

Happy for this new study: @antonbandersson.bsky.social and I analyze how social networks contribute to class divides in attitudes to economic inequality from a country-comparative perspective.
New paper! 🚨
Curious how peoples’ social ties to different class positions shape their attitudes to income inequality and how this varies by country and institutional context? Check the new study by Lindh and myself. @sofi.su.se

We ask whether social capital contributes to the labour market disadvantages of descendants of immigrants.
Examining access to, use of, and returns to social capital, we find that it is not the main driver of disadvantage.
