Also (and I've known this for a long time but thought it was worth it until now), Bluesky is the least safe social media to use in terms of your data.

Not just because AI but because basically anyone can use it.

We are quickly heading not towards a world of plenty of good resources but a world where there are plenty of mediocre to bad ones and there's really no way to tell which is which.

So it's going to quickly become unhelpful to most people imo

Not everyone should be able to pick up a mic call themselves an analyst and suddenly be taken seriously but that is basically what's happening

takes about 30m to setup the first time, and even if you forget smth it only takes like 5 minutes to setup when you know what you're doing

this youtube app is a modified one with adblock, free download, sponsorblock, PiP for all vids for free, etc. and I can't live without it

jailbreaking is kinda dead but sideloading on ios is pretty easy

you get an apple dev cert (easy asf)
get the altstore app (if outside of eu from their site)
then add github repos

install the apps
need to refresh at least once a week, happens automatically when connected to your computer

For the vast majority of users the decentralization part of bsky is a "Yep mhm yup" and then they don't care. And they almost certainly won't care.

If Bluesky sucks they won't join another Bsky host, they will stop using it and probably use anything else, including things like Twitter.
